On another one of my fishing trips with Gary he was showing me how to tie the sparklepupa and was using this beautiful, small handmade comb. I commented to him about the beauty of the device and Gary said, “yeah, its beautiful, but it cost $25”. He suggested that I try making one using a process called “photomask and etch”. Gary knew I had invented a unique method of making coronary stents in my real life as a scientist - using this method. So back to the inventing bench. Several tries and we had the right combination of material properties and tooth spacing. This was the second device we put on the market.
